Huanxuan Liao 廖桓萱

I am a third-year PhD student in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), advised by Prof. Shizhu He and Prof. Kang Liu. Previously, I earned my B.Eng. from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) (2023), working with Prof. Min Shi and Prof. Yun Ju.

Research statement

My research focuses on building efficient and adaptive foundation models that can selectively process information, allocate model capacity, and act reliably under resource constraints. I work on:

  • Efficient long-context modeling: long-context data synthesis, sparse architectures, and compression for long text and video, e.g. HyCo2, SparK, ResAdapt.
  • Adaptive model learning: turn instructions and knowledge into task-specific capacity, e.g. TAGI, AAG, SKIntern, NesyCD, SpaRTA.
  • Reliable long-horizon agents: persistent operational agency, tool use, and evaluation, e.g. CITI, ETAPP, KATE, OPERATE.
